Story: After Superstorm Sandy in 2012, while New York City was still recovering from the storm’s devastating effect on the city, I was walking across the Brooklyn Bridge with friends and thinking about the city and how it had changed. As I was passing one of the vertical supports, I noticed this grouping of locks chained to the support. I noticed how brilliant the red and green locks looked in comparison to the generic gold of the other locks and the greys of the limestone, granite and cement tower. Like the red and green lock, soon enough, New York would recover and shine brilliantly again.
