For many years, I compulsively posted food photos to Facebook and Instagram. Many of friends, near and dear, suggested that I create a blog based on my love of photographing the food I consumed. I would smile and laugh it off because I didn’t believe that I have anything to add to the collective voice of internet bloggers. I also didn’t believe that I had the time to take this on and make it successful. I didn’t want to become one of those bloggers whose blog was never visited.
In 2014, I threw caution to the wind and decided that I would finally bog down and create a blog. I knew I wanted to it be more than just about food, so I really sat down and started thinking about what I had to say that would be interesting to others. I knew that I loved traveling and taking photographs. I also knew that I wanted to really love and enjoy living life. So, in July 2014, I created Savory Sweet and Neat with my first post “Just Me!” I also created a Facebook page that would allow me to get the word out about my blog to my friends and a broader audience.
Since posting that first blog, I’ve been very grateful to all those who have visited, read and commented on what I’ve created. I am extremely thankful for my international visitors who continue to view my blog weekly. I hope that I can continue share interesting things with you.
Below is a 2014 year-in-review about my blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 2,100 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 35 trips to carry that many people.
